Spiritualism
Christian Reimers became interested in spiritualism through Robert Schumann's enthusiasm for the subject. When he moved to England, he became involved in spiritualistic societies there writing articles for newsletters and towards the end of his time there, gave lectures.

When he lived in Adelaide, South Australia, he was at the forefront of the promotion of Spiritualism giving lectures that were reported in the newspapers and with many letters to the Editors of the local papers. In one weekly newspaper called the South Australian Times he submitted many articles on the subject which were regularly challenged by Kirkham Evans, a member of the YMCA. Their "debate' in this paper appeared in almost every edition for about six months.

When he moved to Melbourne, he gave a couple of lectures there but be never gained the notoriety he had in Adelaide.
